Getting Started with Mentoring

Leadbacker's Mentoring module connects employees with internal mentors based on matching interests. Mentees select what they want to work on; the platform suggests compatible mentors from within your organization. The Key User activates mentor and mentee roles — they are not on by default.

Шаги

Activate mentor/mentee roles (Key User)

  1. 1Go to the USERS tab and click Edit on the relevant user.
  2. 2Enable the mentor and/or mentee role and save.

Set up your mentor profile

  1. 1Once activated, go to your profile and open the Mentoring Profile page.
  2. 2Write a description of yourself and your areas of strength — this is what mentees see when browsing.
  3. 3Save your profile.
  4. 4When a mentee selects you, you will receive an email with their message and goal. Agree to the relationship and define shared goals and actions together.

Find a mentor (as a mentee)

  1. 1Once activated, go to your Dashboard to start the matching process.
  2. 2Select your interests. The platform suggests mentors based on these.
  3. 3Browse mentor profiles, read their descriptions, and select the best fit.
  4. 4Enter your mentoring goal and a personal message, then send your request.
  5. 5Once the mentor accepts, access your mentoring path at Development Path > My Mentoring.

Важные примечания

  • Both roles (mentor and mentee) must be explicitly activated by the Key User — they are off by default.
  • The mentee drives the relationship — initiating contact and owning the process.
  • Mentors should ideally be someone other than the mentee's direct manager.
  • Mentoring is long-term and relationship-driven. It is different from Coaching, which is short-term and situation-specific.
